The quick decision to relocate to Postbahnhof proved to be the right move, offering a beautiful space to host the variety of side events included the program. With over 3000 visitors from Germany and abroad, THEKEY.TO, the international event for green fashion, sustainable lifestyle and culture wrapped up yet another successful edition. THEKEY.TO is organised by GREENaffairs event in cooperation with Balestra Berlin. 04-10 Tel Aviv: My visit of Israels´ first Fair Trade Store
Proprietor Shirley Askary founded Zendegi, which means "life" in farce and hindu, 2 years ago ago. I met her there and discovered a beautifully arranged store. The store carries a variety of finest fair traded organic cotton clothes, shoes and jewelry, produced mainly in Israel. "You change into living a life where you don’t need much, and instead just enjoy using what you do have,” she explains. Some of her products are the results of a collaboration between israeli and palestinian workers. I like her idea and I will soon support this israeli-palestinian collaboration by offering vegan boots in my online shop. These fair trade boots are made of high quality and robust canvas material. The company Depary in Marrakech, Morocco, opened its doors for me. I was able to interview the managing director, Fabrice Damamme, and to take pictures of the production. This way I received detailed information on this company. Mr. Fabrice Damamme received the Fairtrade certificate for Depary 2 years ago, being the first company for cotton production in Morocco.
